Sergio Mora is a multidisciplinary performance artist who moves freely among the worlds of theatre and dance as he continues to develop his own unique style of artistic self-expression.
Since 2012, Mora has been a member of the esteemed Miami-based theater company Antiheroes Project and toured as an actor with their original full length physical theater work Nomadis (2014) directed by Jose Manuel Dominguez. He also works with Antiheroes Project as a teaching artist, facilitating movement and performance workshops for people with mixed abilities of all ages.
Most recently in the Performance Art world during Art Basel Miami 2016 Mora participated in the Satellite Art Fair, Miami Art Week and participated in collaborative performances with the Estonian Performance Art Collective Non-Grata and Wild Torus.
In 2012 he acted in Antiheroes Project’s large-scale physical theatre production Mahagonny by Bertolt Brecht under the direction of Jose Manuel Dominguez. Mora has also written and performed solo theatre work for the Miami chapter of the New York City based performance initiative The Field, including “Mud and Water” in 2012, and “Chains” in 2010.
Currently he also serves as community coordinator for Orange Island Arts Foundation, a literary arts organization in Broward County Florida, whose mission is to cultivate community through the written word. He also works with poetry outreach program Eat Your Poem which seeks to “spread light and love through the poetic word” as a teaching artist bringing poetry readings, writing workshops and other poetic programming to groups of children and adults.
